THE MEADOWS – WESTERRA CUSTOM HOMES
The Meadows is a quiet community in Sequim near outdoor recreation and urban experiences.
The Meadows neighborhood is beautifully located near the base of the Olympic Mountain range outside of Sequim, Washington. Nestled in the ‘blue hole’ rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, the Meadows neighborhood enjoys an average of 250 days of sun or partial sun throughout the year. With temperatures averaging 70 degrees during the summer, Sequim is thought as a great place to live and retire.
This Meadows custom home is 2,300 square feet with a 3 car garage. Featuring 2 fireplaces, one inside and one on the outside patio. Located on a city lot measuring 90 by 110 feet, it is the first home we have built using ductless heat pumps in every room. The advantage here is each room will be more energy efficient and controlled by a hand held controller. The ductless system is direct to the room and provides heat and air conditioning throughout. We are already seeing energy savings of 30 to 40% using this ductless systems. Also featured in this Meadows home, we are using a water heater with its very own heat pump, saving 15 to 20% in energy costs over a conventional water heater.
The Meadows custom home is also being built with no steps from the garage, the front porch or the rear porch. Since there are no ducts in the crawl space we are able to lower the floor joists inside the foundation so there is no step up into the house. This is popular with our maturing buyers who want to be sure they can live in a barrier free house. On top of all that, we are making every doorway wheel chair accessible with a minimum 3 foot opening.
